Merry Christmas!
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
Merry Christmas!
Today, our Savior is born. For that reason, we rejoice.
Enjoy your Christmas traditions, whether it be a simple church service, brunch with grandparents, or the classic gift exchange, remember to savor the holiday. Time flies, and as we find ourselves swept by the hustle and bustle, take a moment to thank God. Thank Him for becoming man and for blessing us through His suffering.
On this day, our salvation was made manifest. On this day, we cherish God’s divine plan, hope, and the coming atonement as the Word became flesh to dwell among us. As He lay among livestock, let us also remember how they represent us: unworthy creatures before a Holy God.
The night Christ was born, shepherds were tending their flocks until an angel of the Lord appeared to proclaim the coming Christ. Shepherds, despite occupying one of society’s lowest stations, would have the special honor of greeting the King of the cosmos. So they followed the Host of Heaven to His lowly birthplace.
Wise men came too. From the East, Magi tracked the stars and followed prophecy to visit their Lord. In their wisdom, these priests of the East were able to see God. In their humility, the shepherds beheld Him the same.
Christ the Savior of mankind, who would ransom his captive people, was born that cold night nearly two millennia ago. After generations of longing, since the fall of Adam, the anticipation of the faithful finally appeared.
As your Christmas Day winds down, remember that first Noel. Do not forget about the blessing that God gave us by taking on our struggles and showing us the Way to eternal life. Today, we are celebrating our King’s birth and our salvation. Jesus is and always will be the greatest gift of all, and you don’t need to spend a cent to receive Him.
